Dern and Ladd were married from 1960 to 1969 and had one daughter together, actress Laura Dern. Diane Ladd was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performances in the films 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore', 'Wild at Heart', and 'Rambling Rose'.
In a statement, Bruce Dern said that Ladd was a 'remarkable actress' and a 'hidden gem' until she worked with David Lynch. He also emphasized that Ladd was an 'excellent co-star' and a 'wonderful mother' to their daughter, Laura Dern.
