Marinella: The story behind her stage name

Writer Yannis Xanthoulis had described the circumstances under which the stage name 'Marinella' came about.

According to his account, Marinella was performing as Kiki Papadopoulou at a center in Panorama. The owner of the center, considering the name unattractive, suggested using the name Marinella, inspired by a song by Tolis Harmas from the movie 'Laterna, Poverty and Pride', which referred to a 'Marinella'.
