Maria Antona: Taxi driver took me to the mountain instead of home

Journalist Maria Antona shared an unpleasant experience she had with a taxi driver in Thessaloniki. As she mentioned on the show "Kalokairi Parea," the driver, while she had fallen asleep in the taxi, drove her to an area near the top of the mountain instead of dropping her off at her house.

Antona connected her personal experience with a recent case in Heraklion, Crete, where a taxi driver is accused of attempted sexual harassment of a passenger. She described that the incident happened years ago when taxi apps were not so widespread and she had taken a taxi from the street.

"It happened to me, many years ago, when I was in Thessaloniki. I took a taxi from the street, back then apps or calling a radio taxi were not very common. I fell asleep in the taxi and instead of dropping me off at my house, it had reached near the top of the mountain," Maria Antona characteristically stated.
