Giorgos Mazonakis was discharged from Dromokaiteio on the morning of Monday, August 18, after a re-examination by psychiatrists.

During his hospitalization, he was in constant communication with his lawyer regarding developments.

His admission to the psychiatric clinic was by order of the prosecutor, following a request from relatives, without his consent.

In his first statements after his discharge, Giorgos Mazonakis stated: "Thank you all very much. Be well. Everything is fine. Thank you very much for your treatment. I have nothing else to say."
