Helen Mirren: James Bond Must Be a Man

Dame Helen Mirren has stated that James Bond should remain a male role, despite identifying as a 'big feminist'.

The Oscar-winning actress has previously mentioned that the character of James Bond 'was born out of a deep sexism,' but emphasized that women have always been 'an incredibly important part' of the secret services.

'You can't have a woman. It just doesn't work. James Bond has to be James Bond, otherwise it becomes something different,' Mirren said in an interview with Saga Magazine.
