Dimitra Papadima: "I have been very hurt by my parents"

Actress Dimitra Papadima, in an interview with the newspaper On Time, referred to her childhood and her relationship with her parents.
"I was born into a very poor family, who lived in a courtyard in Agia Paraskevi. I have been very hurt by my parents," Dimitra Papadima confessed.
"They even forbade me to study, even though I had passed the Philosophical School of Thessaloniki, because I had to work to take care of my younger twin siblings. I secretly went to the Rallou Manou school and later to the Veaki drama school," she added.
Referring to Agia Paraskevi where she grew up, she said: "The Agia Paraskevi I lived in was among the daisies, the poppies... There wasn't enough money to buy me dolls. I played with ants, butterflies."
Finally, Dimitra Papadima noted: "Back then we believed and hoped. Now, I don't see young people hoping. I don't see hope."
