Singer Akylas, who represented Greece in the 70th Eurovision Song Contest, revealed that he underwent a minor surgery after being diagnosed with purulent tonsillitis.

Speaking on the show "To Proino" on Thursday, April 2, Akylas described his health ordeal: "I'm fine, I had a health adventure last week. It bothered me a lot, I was late to start antibiotics. I got an abscess, I had a mini surgery but now I'm better. I speak, I sing, I eat. I am very well in my health."

Akylas also referred to the covers of the song "Ferto", with which he participated in Eurovision, in other languages. He expressed his joy for the impact that the song has, characteristically stating: "The Estonian singer made a terrific cover of the song. It is my great joy to see that the song has been so loved and that they cover it in other languages. I recently heard one in Ukrainian that was very interesting."
