The cabinet convenes today at 11:00 AM, the last meeting before the summer break. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to outline the agenda for the fall and priorities for each ministry.

Reportedly, ministers will receive the codified priorities for the second half of 2025, a concise version of the 'blue folders,' presented by Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hatzidakis and Minister of State Akis Skertsos. Oversight will be provided by the Prime Minister's office.

Additionally, Interior Minister Theodoros Livanios will present the bill for the new Local Government Code, which includes changes to the electoral system for municipalities and regions, abolishing the second round of elections. Direct election with a threshold slightly above 42% is being promoted, while citizens will also have a second combination choice on the ballot.

Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to depart from Athens for a few days during the week of August 15th and has already scheduled the first meetings for after the 18th of the month in anticipation of the Thessaloniki International Fair (DETH).
