Hatzivasiliou: Greece will not allow violation of sovereign rights

New Democracy MP for Serres, Tasos Hatzivasiliou, stated that Greece will not allow any violation of its sovereign rights. The statements were made on the OPEN television station.

Referring to Libya and Turkey's moves towards Haftar, Mr. Hatzivasiliou stressed that Greece has sent a message to Libya to discuss the EEZ. He also noted that Greece cannot prevent contact between third parties.

Regarding violations in the Aegean by Turkish fishermen, Mr. Hatzivasiliou emphasized the excellent work of the Greek Coast Guard.

Referring to the Monastery of Saint Catherine in Sinai, Mr. Hatzivasiliou stressed the need to restore normalcy and the effort of Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis to settle the pending issue with Egypt.

Finally, regarding political developments in France, he warned of the increasing risk of instability in Europe and the need for fiscal adjustment.
