The Hellenic Parliament plenary approved the establishment of an inquiry committee to investigate responsibilities regarding the state of OPEKEPE from 1998 to the present. The New Democracy (ND) party's proposal was approved with 166 votes.

In the roll-call vote, 166 MPs (ND, Course of Freedom, and 5 independents) voted in favor, while 92 MPs (PASOK, SYRIZA, New Left, and Niki) voted against. The KKE and Hellenic Solution parties withdrew. The committee will consist of 31 members, and its work will last at least 3 months.

PASOK and Course of Freedom expressed objections to the duration of the committee's work, with Dimitris Mantzos referring to a "Parliamentary ratification of the attempted cover-up of M. Voridis' responsibilities."

The proposal for a preliminary investigation committee regarding M. Voridis and V. Avgenakis is expected to be discussed on Wednesday.
