SYRIZA Recalls Tsipras' Ithaca Speech on End of Memoranda

SYRIZA referenced Alexis Tsipras' speech in Ithaca in August 2018, when the end of the memoranda was announced. The announcement from Koumoundourou comes amid scenarios about the establishment of a new political party by the former prime minister.

In its announcement, SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance recalls that "a determined government can, even under the weight of the most adverse conditions, pursue policies in favor of the people and the weaker sections of society." The announcement also states that ND then spoke of a "4th memorandum" in order to win the 2019 elections.

Furthermore, SYRIZA comments that "Seven years after the assumption of government by ND and Kyriakos Mitsotakis, we live in a country where corruption and entanglement govern the country, cartels profiteer unscrupulously, while scandals and their cover-up are a daily occurrence."
