Dimitris Stamatis, Former ND Minister, Passes Away

Dimitris Stamatis, former minister and member of parliament for New Democracy, has passed away at the age of 75 after a long illness.

Born in Thessaloniki, Stamatis served as president of the Consignments and Loans Fund and Minister of State in the government of Antonis Samaras.

He was first elected as a member of parliament in 1985 and served in various positions, including Secretary General of the Ministry of Transport and Communications and the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

Politicians such as Antonis Samaras, Kostis Hatzidakis, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, and Adonis Georgiadis expressed their condolences for his death.
