N. Dendias: Major housing program for the Armed Forces in Thrace

The Minister of National Defense, Nikos Dendias, visited Komotini and the XXI Armored Brigade (XXI TTH), accompanied by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis.
During the visit, Mr. Dendias was informed about the mission and activities of the Brigade. The Minister emphasized the importance of the Armed Forces' presence in the area and referred to a major housing program to improve the quality of life for the Armed Forces personnel and their families.
Specifically, as he said, 271 new homes are being built in Thrace, while 10,500 homes will be built and another 7,000 will be renovated nationwide. He also referred to a package of social benefits, such as nurseries and support for the elderly.
In addition, Mr. Dendias visited the construction site of the General Hospital of Komotini, which is being built with a donation from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN), emphasizing that it will provide high-level health services.
He also met with the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Maroneia & Komotini, Mr. Panteleimon, the Regional Governor of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Christodoulos Topsidis, and representatives of the Rhodope Association of Reserve Officers.
