Mitsotakis at MED9: Threats also from the South

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, after the MED9 summit in Slovenia, stressed that future threats come not only from the east but also from the south. He reiterated the need for a European missile shield.
Mr. Mitsotakis met with King Abdullah of Jordan, with whom he discussed developments in the Middle East. The Prime Minister expressed his appreciation for Jordan's role in the stability of the region.
Referring to energy, Mr. Mitsotakis stressed the need for a faster construction of a common European energy market, especially in southeastern Europe.
Regarding decarbonization, he noted the need to balance targets with social cohesion and competitiveness.
