M. Karystianou: Democracy in Greece is Only Symbolic

The president of the "Tempi 2023" Victims Association, Maria Karystianou, stated that democracy in Greece is only symbolic, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the restoration of democracy.

"In essence, there is no democracy in Greece," she characteristically stated, emphasizing that "there are ruthless people in power who commit crimes against society and citizens." She also added that there are "equally ruthless accomplices who help them cover it up."

However, Ms. Karystianou also referred to a "bright, hopeful" Greece, which is "no longer persuaded by false words" but thirsts for "Freedom, Dignity and Justice."

She sent a message of active action, emphasizing that "only united can we fight for true democracy. We for our children."
