Kyranakis: Changes to the Traffic Code under Consideration

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Konstantinos Kyranakis, revealed that changes to the Traffic Code are being considered in collaboration with the Hellenic Police (ELAS).

Speaking on Action24, Mr. Kyranakis mentioned that the possibility of allowing offenders who drive vehicles with different engine capacities than those stated on their license to obtain a license for those specific capacities and regain their license is being examined.

Furthermore, the minister referred to the strictness of fines for violations such as illegal parking, emphasizing that parking on sidewalks endangers the safety of pedestrians. He pointed out that pedestrian accidents are frequent in traffic accidents in Athens, due to the habit of many drivers to park on sidewalks and ramps for people with disabilities.
