Piraeus Port Continuously Upgraded, Says Kikilias

The Minister of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy, Vasilis Kikilias, announced the continuous upgrading of the Port of Piraeus in collaboration with OLP SA, ahead of the peak of coastal shipping traffic.
According to Mr. Kikilias, works concerning the safety of travelers and the quality of services provided have already been completed. Specifically, shelters, new seats, special railings, and fencing for cars have been installed, while the coolers and chemical toilets have been repaired. In addition, new signage has been designed, and recycling bins have been placed.
The completed works include:
- Construction of shaded passenger waiting areas with seating (365 sq.m.).
- Construction of new sanitary facilities and installation of 30 chemical toilets.
- Installation of 1,700 plastic bollards along the piers.
- Placement of 30 new recycling bins.
- Placement of 50 emergency life jacket packages.
- Creation of information signs and taxi areas.
- Designation of new parking spaces for people with disabilities.
- Installation of 1,500 plastic railings for passenger safety.
Mr. Kikilias emphasized that these interventions improve the functionality and image of the port.
