NTUA: Reactions to the Deletion of 'Perpetual' Students
Share on:

Professors at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) are expressing their opposition to the deletion of 'perpetual' students, as well as the new disciplinary provisions included in the bill for Higher Education Institutions.

In their announcement, the professors emphasize that these provisions challenge the ability of many students to complete their studies, given that the average graduation time from the School is over 7 years. They also point out that the new provisions on disciplinary law abolish the self-governance of Higher Education Institutions.

The professors propose the strengthening of Higher Education Institutions by the state, both in personnel and logistical infrastructure, as well as in resources for student care. Professor Nektarios Kozyris, candidate for rector and member of the NTUA Board of Directors, voted in favor of the text of the reactions.

The NTUA School of Electrical and Computer Engineering declares its readiness to support its students and asks the government to start a public dialogue with all stakeholders.
