Severe Weather Alert: Heavy Rainfall Expected in Attica and Other Regions

Heavy rainfall is expected in Attica after midnight, according to a severe weather alert. The Civil Protection has placed the Peloponnese Region, the Thessaly Region (including the Sporades), the Regional Units of Achaia and Ilia in the Western Greece Region, and the Regional Units of Pieria, Imathia, and Halkidiki in the Central Macedonia Region on alert.

Rain in Attica will begin shortly before or after midnight and will intensify overnight. Strong thunderstorms are expected on Sunday. The Risk Assessment Committee convened urgently under the General Secretary of Civil Protection.

Citizens are urged to exercise increased caution and avoid unnecessary travel.
