Doukas to Israeli Ambassador: 'We do not accept democracy lessons'

The Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, responded to statements by the Israeli Ambassador, Noam Katz, regarding graffiti in Athens and the feelings of Israeli tourists. Doukas stated: 'We do not accept democracy lessons from those who kill civilians.'

In a post on X, Doukas emphasized that Athens respects its visitors and supports the free expression of its citizens. He also mentioned the increase in the number of Israelis who were granted a Greek Golden Visa in the last year.

Doukas concluded by saying that the ambassador's focus on graffiti is appalling, while a 'unprecedented genocide' is taking place in Gaza.
