Alexandra Rogkakou: Appointment Approved for the National Transparency Authority

The parliamentary committee approved the appointment of Alexandra Rogkakou as the head of the National Transparency Authority (EAD).
The government's proposal was supported by ND, while PASOK, SYRIZA, Nea Aristera, and Niki voted against it. KKE declared "present," while Elliniki Lysi and Plevsi Eleftherias were absent from the vote.
During the session, Ms. Rogkakou answered questions about the Authority's work, including issues related to the OPEKEPE scandal and the Tempi tragedy. She stated that the EAD had issued a report on Contract 717 as early as 2021.
The responsible minister, Thodoris Livanios, stated that the appointment was made through an objective process, with the participation of the vice-presidents of ASEP.
The session began with tension, as Zoi Konstantopoulou proposed a postponement due to insufficient information for the parties, a request that was rejected by the majority.
