Extreme Fire Risk Tomorrow in Attica and Other Regions

An extreme fire risk (category 5) is forecast for tomorrow, Friday (August 8, 2025), in Attica, Kythira, Corinthia, Argolida, and areas of Boeotia, Evia, and Laconia, according to the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.

A very high (category 4) and high (category 3) fire risk also exists for other areas of the mainland and the islands.

The Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Giannis Kefalogiannis, convened an inter-ministerial meeting in anticipation of gale-force winds.

The Fire Brigade is on alert, while the Ministries of Interior, Health, Social Cohesion and Family, and Tourism, the Armed Forces, ELAS, the HCG-EL.ACT, concessionaires, DEDDIE, ADMIE, and EKAV are on increased alert.
