Greek Farmers to Decide on Escalation of Protests

Farmers in Greece will decide on Sunday on the next steps in their mobilizations. A nationwide meeting is scheduled in Malgara, where the final decisions will be made.

The majority of farmers at the roadblocks appear determined to escalate the struggle, as they believe that there have been no substantial steps to resolve their demands from the Government's side.

Tomorrow's meeting will consider the possibility of descending with tractors to Athens and a general closure of roads. Today, a general assembly will be held at the Nikaia roadblock to determine the position of the farmers at the nationwide meeting.

The farmers of Nikaia emphasize that they are in favor of dialogue under specific conditions, but not behind the scenes. The Government is awaiting the decisions of the farmers and is considering ways to deal with the mobilizations.
