Volos: 78-year-old seriously injured after falling into 15-meter well

A 78-year-old man was rescued seriously injured from a well in Almyros, near Volos. The man had been trapped at a depth of 15 meters.

According to taxydromos.gr, the rescue operation was difficult due to the narrowness of the well. The 78-year-old sustained injuries to his head and ribs and was transferred to Achillopouleio Hospital of Volos.

Eight vehicles from the Fire Service of Volos and Drymona Almyros participated in the operation. A team from EMAK (Special Disaster Management Unit) from Larissa finally pulled the man out after two hours.

The circumstances under which the man fell into the well are under investigation.
