Triple Fire Front in Preveza – Emergency Alert

Three simultaneous fires broke out in Preveza, in the areas of Aidoni, Narkissos, and Vovopotamos, on the afternoon of Thursday, August 28. The Fire Service has been mobilized and is operating with strong forces to extinguish the fires.

Residents received a message from 112 for increased readiness. The fires spread rapidly, burning forest areas, mainly in the Aidoni and Kleisoura areas of the Municipality of Parga.

The extinguishing operation involves 64 firefighters, 22 vehicles, two teams of foot patrols, nine aircraft, and two helicopters. Assistance is also provided by water trucks from the O.T.A. The authorities remain on alert, with priority given to the safety of residents.

Strong winds in the area are hindering firefighting efforts.
