Corfu Hit by Gale-Force Winds of 11 Beaufort

Corfu has been struck by gale-force winds reaching 11 Beaufort, causing problems in various parts of the island. According to corfutvnews.gr, the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) recorded wind gusts of up to 110 km/h at the Avliotes naval outpost.

The strong winds caused trees to fall in Gouvia, Agia Aikaterini, and the Agios Nikolaos area towards Skripero. A tree fell outside the Music School of Corfu, but no injuries were reported.

Authorities are on alert to deal with any new incidents.

  • 1st EPAL Corfu – Mantouki (6 m): 59.5 km/h
  • Orini Petalia (650 m): 56.3 km/h
