Thessaloniki: Gale-Force Winds Cause Fallen Trees

Strong winds are sweeping through Thessaloniki and the surrounding areas, with gusts reaching up to 7 Beaufort. The Fire Department has received dozens of calls for fallen trees and removal of objects.
Civil Protection advises citizens to be cautious due to the risk of falling trees. According to voria.gr, the Fire Department has intervened in municipalities such as Thessaloniki, Pylaia-Chortiatis, Thermi and Lagadas.
On Vas. Irakleiou Street, a tree fell on a car, while minor damages have been reported in other locations. The Civil Protection of the Municipality of Thessaloniki is on high alert and urges citizens to be careful during their movements.
According to emakedonia.gr, more than 30 tree falls have been reported in Thessaloniki and Halkidiki. A tree fell at the intersection of Scholeiou 2A and Papadopoulou streets in Panorama, while near the Thermi Health Center, a fallen tree caused traffic problems.
The Fire Department has received calls to remove dilapidated objects, such as signs and awnings. Damage has been recorded to cars, with no injuries reported.
