Mount Taygetus: Climbers Rescued – Transported to Hospital
The rescue of four climbers trapped in a snowy ravine on Mount Taygetus, at an altitude of 2,000 meters, has been completed.
During the ascent, one climber slipped and pulled the others down, resulting in them being trapped. Authorities were notified, and a rescue operation was launched.
The team from the 6th EMAK approached the ravine after a 4-hour hike and provided first aid. The climbers are being transported to the hospital with minor injuries. 89 firefighters and volunteers participated in the operation.
Andreas Kapourelos, commander of the Peloponnese Regional Fire Department, stated that a large operation was set up to safely bring the climbers down.
