Syros: Protest Against Cruise Ship Carrying Tourists from Israel

Approximately 300 people gathered in Ermoupoli, Syros on Tuesday (22/07) to protest the presence of the cruise ship Crown Iris, which was carrying tourists from Israel.

The ship's arrival was accompanied by increased security measures. Protesters, members of unions and local organizations, held Palestinian flags and banners with slogans against genocide, expressing their opposition to the events in the Middle East.

Until the time of the protest, no one had disembarked from the ship. The port of Syros remained under the supervision of the Syros Port Authority until the departure of the Crown Iris in the afternoon. The protest ended with a march towards Kanaris Square.
