Clashes broke out at the port of Souda, Chania, during a protest against the arrival of the Crown Iris cruise ship carrying Israeli tourists. Protesters gathered in the square, with police lining up at the port entrance.
The mobilization, organized by ELME, SEPE and other unions, expressed solidarity with the Palestinians. Protesters held Palestinian flags and chanted slogans. Banners read slogans such as "no corner of the world is free without a free Palestine" and "Israeli tourists unwelcome. free palestine".
During the disembarkation of the tourists, tension arose, with police forces dispersing the protesters. Some protesters threw paint at the buses carrying the tourists. A video from zarpanews.gr shows police chasing protesters and using stun grenades. Two women were arrested.
