5.2 Magnitude Earthquake in Evia – Felt in Attica

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Nea Styra, Evia, shaking Attica. The focal depth was 13.6 kilometers.
According to the Geodynamic Institute, the epicenter is located 5 kilometers west-northwest of Styra.
After the main earthquake, aftershocks of 2.5 and 2.6 Richter followed. Efthymios Lekkas stated that it is a superficial earthquake and aftershocks are expected.
The Civil Protection was put on alert and the Fire Service has not received reports of damage. Giorgos Kelaiditis, vice-governor of Evia, contacted the president in Nea Styra and there are no reports of damage.
The earthquake was also felt during a live broadcast of ERT.
