Two contrasting scenes unfolded in Rhodes with the arrival of the Crown Iris cruise ship, carrying 660 Israeli tourists. While local authorities welcomed the tourists with sweets, protesters gathered to condemn Israel's policies in Gaza.

The reception included the Mayor of Rhodes, Alexandros Koliadis, and the Deputy Regional Governor, Apostolos Asprakis. Meanwhile, the protest led to 15 detentions and 8 arrests for violence against employees and violation of the anti-racism law.

Among those detained was Evangelia Panahi, a former municipal councilor.
