The health ordeal of a 14-year-old from Kefalonia, who had been intubated after suffering severe paralysis, has had a positive outcome. Doctors in Patras proceeded with her extubation today.

The 14-year-old was rushed to the University General Hospital of Patras with paralysis in her limbs and respiratory muscles. A helicopter transported her from Kefalonia to Araxos, and then to the hospital.

According to tempo24.news, the 14-year-old, immediately after being extubated, asked to hug the doctors and nursing staff who cared for her.

Fourteen health professionals participated in the rescue operation, coordinated by pediatrician Athanasios Filias and the director of the Pediatric ICU, Andreas Iliadis. Her health condition remains under close monitoring.
