Agios Nikolaos Bypass on Vonitsa-Lefkada Road Axis Now Open

The Agios Nikolaos bypass on the Vonitsa-Lefkada road axis has been opened to traffic. This section bypasses the settlement of Agios Nikolaos with a new route, approximately 3.5 kilometers long.

It is part of the Vonitsa-Lefkada road axis, with a total length of 16 kilometers. The main road has an asphalt width of 5.5 meters per direction, including a 3.75-meter wide traffic lane and a 1.75-meter LEA (Emergency Lane).

Regarding the operation of the new section, the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Christos Dimas stated: "With the Vonitsa-Lefkada and Aktio-Agios Nikolaos road axes, which have been delivered, the connection of the city of Lefkada with the Aktio-Preveza Bridge, Amvrakia, and the Ionian Road is achieved."

The Minister emphasized that this is a project extremely necessary for Western Greece, improving safety conditions and reducing travel time.
