Paxos: Grief for 4-year-old Amelia – Funeral on Tuesday, Her Birthday

The funeral of 4-year-old Amelia, who tragically drowned, will be held in Paxos on Tuesday, August 26, at the Holy Church of the Ascension in Loggos. The funeral will take place on her birthday.

Little Amelia was playing in the yard of her house when she wandered off unnoticed. A short time later, she was found unconscious.

The parents and grandfather of the 4-year-old were released with a restraining order prohibiting them from leaving the country. Criminal charges had been filed against them for endangering a minor.

Amelia's aunt described the dramatic moments to Live News, from her disappearance to her discovery in the villa's pool. According to her description, the little girl opened the door and headed towards the pool, taking toys with her. She was found unconscious in the pool.
