A 40-year-old man was injured on Mount Olympus, near the "Spilios Agapitos" refuge, at an altitude of 2,100 meters. The injured man claims that the authorities refused to send a helicopter for his transport, despite the fact that his knee was severely damaged. "The accident happened at 11:45 and my knee is literally shattered," the 40-year-old told voria.gr.

The fire service responded that there was no immediate danger to the injured man's life and that his condition did not require air transport. "Firefighters located the injured man near the 'Spilios Agapitos' refuge in an accessible location and placed him on a stretcher," fire service sources said. "It was found that there was no imminent danger to his life."

Firefighters from Litohoro and members of EMAK transported the injured man on a stretcher so that an EKAV ambulance could pick him up.
