Viannos Municipality Addresses Drought with New Drilling

The Municipality of Viannos is addressing the drought problem by utilizing a new irrigation drilling in the "Sterovizi" area of the T.K. Embarou. Works are underway and aim to cover the irrigation needs of the area.
The project, with a budget of 100,000 euros, aims to restore the lack of irrigation water and provide a significant amount of water until the end of October. The Mayor of Viannos, Pavlos Baritakis, stated that this intervention aims to relieve the citizens and improve water management, while also helping the wider area of the Municipal Community of Embaros.
The drilling in "Sterovizi" is licensed with a supply of 35.00 m3/h and a depth of 180 meters. The total annual amount of water that can be utilized amounts to 117,600 cubic meters, covering approximately 400 acres of olive groves. The project is funded by the "Agricultural Development of Greece 2014 - 2020" Program.
