New sports center being built in Corfu

A new sports center is being built in Corfu, in the area of Almyros Acharavi. The Municipal Authority of North Corfu presented the complete plan for the construction of the Sports Center of the Municipal Unit of Thinalia.

The project includes the upgrade of the Thinalia stadium with the construction of stands, locker rooms and other infrastructure. The aim is to meet the needs of sports clubs and youth in the area.

Four contracts are already underway, while the fifth, which concerns the installation of new turf, is also progressing. This contract is implemented through a program agreement between the Municipality of North Corfu and the Ionian Islands Region.

The initiative is supported by the Mayor of North Corfu, Giorgos Machimaris, the Sports Committee of the Municipality and the President of the Thinaliakos Community Christos Anemogiannis, the Administration of Thinaliakos and the local Football Academy.

Officials emphasize that the project aims to create a functional and safe environment for sports, the development of local sports and the strengthening of social cohesion.
