Tug boats have arrived in the Nea Styra area, where the ferry "Panagia Paravouniotissa" ran aground on Tuesday afternoon. The ship, which was en route to Agia Marina, ran aground on a shoal near the islet of Glaros.

The president of the Styra community, Nikos Drakogiannis, stated that the tugs have laid the ferry on its side and technicians have boarded to assess the situation.

There were 105 passengers and 9 crew members on board. The disembarkation of passengers was carried out with the help of Coast Guard vessels and private individuals. Due to a lack of accommodation, 47 passengers were transported to Marmari and Karystos, while others chose alternative ways to return.
