Nafplio: Stunning Flamingo Appearance on the Coast

More than 50 pink flamingos landed on the coast of Nafplio on Sunday, July 27, 2025, offering a unique spectacle. The birds, with the Palamidi, Bourtzi, and the Argolic Gulf in the background, added an exotic touch to the area.
The appearance of the flamingos coincided with extreme weather phenomena, with the mercury exceeding 40 degrees Celsius and fires in various parts of the country. Nevertheless, their presence brought moments of beauty and tranquility.
Flamingos often choose saline ecosystems, such as the lagoons of Messolonghi and Cyprus. In Greece, they are now considered frequent visitors during migration periods.
