Vasilissis Olgas Avenue Reopens to Traffic in Athens

Vasilissis Olgas Avenue in Athens has reopened to traffic after months of construction. According to the Mayor of Athens, Haris Doukas, the reopening of the avenue aims to alleviate congestion in the city center and upgrade public spaces.
Traffic on Vasilissis Olgas had been suspended since 2020 as part of the "Great Walk" project. Pedestrianization and renovation projects connecting the area with the Zappeion have been completed. The section from Ardittou to the Columns of Olympian Zeus is expected to be delivered by the end of August.
Haris Doukas stated that Vasilissis Olgas is "once again becoming a road that unites the city, relieves traffic congestion, and highlights the Athens we want."
