Kythnos: Kayak Trip to Sifnos as Protest Over Ferry Connection

A resident of Kythnos, Manolis Christodoulakis, undertook a kayak trip from Kythnos to Sifnos, via Serifos, as a form of protest against the lack of ferry connection between his island and Piraeus, as well as the neighboring islands of the western Cyclades.

According to kaipoutheos.gr, this is the second year that Kythnos has faced ferry connection problems. Despite the weather conditions, Mr. Christodoulakis arrived in Sifnos and participated in the Cycladic Gastronomy festival "Nikolaos Tselementes". He then returned to Kythnos in his kayak.
