Kryoneri, Attica: The Day After the Fire

The fire that broke out yesterday in the Drosopigi area and spread to Kryoneri, Attica, is no longer active. Firefighting forces remain in the area to control small outbreaks.

The fire burned dozens of acres of forest land, houses and cars. '112' messages were sent to evacuate settlements due to strong winds.

220 firefighters with 8 ground teams and 69 vehicles participated in the extinguishing operation, while 10 aircraft and 7 helicopters were used.
