Crete: 78-year-old British Tourist Found Dead in Hotel Pool

A 78-year-old British tourist was found dead in a hotel pool in Hersonissos, Crete. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when the woman felt unwell while swimming.

Hotel staff pulled her out of the pool and provided first aid, but unfortunately, she could not be revived. An ambulance from EKAV transported her to a polyclinic, where her death was confirmed.

Police arrested the 21-year-old lifeguard, the 51-year-old manager, and the 41-year-old general manager of the hotel. A case file was opened against them for manslaughter by negligence, and they were released pending trial.
