Weather: Strong Winds and Localized Rain – Affected Areas

The weather today, Thursday, will be generally clear, with the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) warning of gale-force northerly winds up to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea. Local rains are expected in Crete, mainly in the mountainous areas, until the afternoon, as well as in the northern mainland, mainly mountainous, during the midday and afternoon hours.
Winds will blow from northerly directions at 4 to 6 Beaufort, and in the Aegean Sea at 7 and locally 8 Beaufort. The temperature will slightly rise in the west, reaching 33 to 36 and locally in the western mainland 37 degrees Celsius. In the Cyclades, Sporades and northern Crete, it will not exceed 30 degrees Celsius.
In Attica, the weather will be generally clear with northerly winds 5 to 6 and in the east 7 and possibly 8 Beaufort. The temperature will range from 24 to 34 degrees Celsius.
In Thessaloniki, temporary clouds are expected with the possibility of local showers in the surrounding mountainous areas in the afternoon. The winds will be north-northwesterly 4 to 5 Beaufort and the temperature from 21 to 32 degrees Celsius.
The forecast for Friday 08-08-2025 predicts generally clear weather with temporary clouds in northern Crete and during midday – afternoon hours in Macedonia and in the mountainous areas of Epirus and Thessaly.
