Kavala: 59-year-old British woman disappears from Ofrynio beach

The search continues for the 59-year-old British woman, Michele Ann Joy Bourda, who disappeared last Friday from Ofrynio beach in Kavala. According to her husband's statement, he fell asleep on the sunbed next to her.

The woman had arrived in the area for vacation with her husband, who is a Greek citizen and they reside in a village in Serres. As reported by kavalanews.gr, her disappearance made headlines in the British press.

The Central Port Authority of Kavala announced that the rescue operation may be suspended until the evening of next Monday.

According to the local media, the husband of the 59-year-old is upset because his wife had disappeared again in London in 2020, after being fired from her job. She was then located by the British police. The family is worried, and the authorities have issued a Silver Alert.

The woman is described as thin, 1.73 m tall, with blue eyes and shoulder-length hair. Her personal belongings were found on the beach.
