Ioannina: Lakeside Promenade Open to Pedestrians Every Sunday

The Municipality of Ioannina announced that every Sunday until September 28th, the lakeside area around the Castle will be accessible only to pedestrians and cyclists. The initiative started on August 31st.

The aim is to utilize public space and enhance the city's extroversion, following successful actions such as Plasmata II and the Lakeside Picnics Project.

On September 13-14, the Municipality's Lakeside Picnic will take place, marking the start of the school year and the European Mobility Week.

The Mayor of Ioannina, Thomas Begas, stated that the goal is for public space to be returned to citizens and become part of their daily experience.
