Strong Earthquake of 5.3 Richter Scale in Leptokarya, Thesprotia

A strong earthquake of 5.3 on the Richter scale occurred in Leptokarya, Thesprotia, followed by an aftershock of 4.7. The epicenter of the earthquake is located 11 kilometers east of Leptokarya, with a focal depth of 9.7 kilometers.
The first earthquake occurred at 05:32 and the second at 05:36. It was felt in Epirus, Thessaly, and the Ionian Islands.
Professor Efthymios Lekkas stated on ERT that the area is experiencing seismic vibrations with measurable magnitudes, and seismologists are monitoring the phenomenon. The Regional Governor of Epirus, Alexandros Kahrimanis, reported that there are no reports of damage.
