Strong Earthquake Hits Ioannina, Greece: Video and Reactions

A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Ioannina region, causing concern among residents. A security camera captured the moment of the tremor.

The earthquake was felt in many areas of Epirus and the Ionian Islands, such as Corfu and Lefkada. Rockfalls were reported on the Egnatia Odos highway, towards Igoumenitsa, as well as power outages in the city of Ioannina.

The Deputy Mayor of Civil Protection of the Municipality of Ioannina, Efthymios Chrysostomou, told ERT that people are frightened and there have been power outages. The Regional Governor of Epirus, Alexandros Kahrimanis, confirmed the rockfalls on the Egnatia Odos.

So far, no serious damage or injuries have been reported.
