An alert has been raised in Heraklion following the disappearance of 70-year-old Kostas Kartsonakis, for whom a Silver Alert has been issued. He has been missing since Thursday, January 15, 2026.

Konstantinos Kartsonakis disappeared on Thursday afternoon after leaving his home to go to a physiotherapy center near Papastasiou Avenue, but did not return.

According to reports, the 70-year-old apparently lost his way. Security camera footage shows him moving along Olof Palme Street towards the Vasilies district.

Of concern is the fact that Mr. Kartsonakis contacted his relatives by telephone, stating that he was in a dead end and did not know where he was. He suffers from dementia, making his immediate discovery imperative.

The missing man has black hair with a few gray hairs, a gray mustache, brown eyes, and is 1.77 m tall. He was wearing a blue tracksuit and dark sports shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Silver Alert service, 24 hours a day, on the National SOS Line 1065.
